EASTCHESTER KIDS TAKE ACTION by Siena Versaci
This month a small group of girls from Eastchester Middle School worked on a project with the “Eastchester Community Actions Partnership” in order to help out people in our town.
ECAP is a foundation that helps people who are not in a great financial situation. They give out food and necessities to people who need them. This month we decided to work on a toiletry drive, by collecting things like soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste for people’s daily needs.
These things are super important especially right now during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were hoping to collect one hundred sets of these three items so that we could help out our community. By the end of March, we surpassed our goal and were able to make up to two hundred sets to help people in need!
During the process of partaking in the toiletry drive, we saw what a difference just a few kids could make, which is why I think everyone should take a part in something that can help out your town or community, because even the little things help.
