WHAT WE DO
The Loukoumi Foundation was inspired by the 10 book children’s book series by author Nick Katsoris, about the fluffy lamb “Loukoumi,” named after the iconic candy. The book series teaches children, ages 4-8, life lessons of kindness, doing good deeds, anti-bullying, preserving the environment, and following their career dreams, with audio books narrated by celebrities Jennifer Aniston, Olympia Dukakis, Morgan Freeman, Nia Vardalos, Bob Costas and others.
The Loukoumi Foundation with children, ages 5-18, expands on the lessons introduced in the books, teaching children to make a difference in the world one good deed at a time. We work with over 300 schools worldwide through our Good Deed Curriculum, including monthly zooms, hosted by a different school each month in a different international city, where students worldwide collaborate on global good deed projects together.
The students also engage in meaningful projects where they take action and make a difference in the world, making philanthropy fun, not forced, and a lifelong endeavor. They visit animal and homeless shelters, children’s hospitals and nursing homes, clean beaches and parks for the environment, make a difference through the arts and sports, and whatever other projects the students, through their own voices, wish to do, using what makes them happy to make a difference in the lives of others.
