Loukoumi the Lamb Inspires a Good Deeds Movement, Encouraging Children to Make A Difference. Each year, TEGNA recognizes 14 outstanding leaders of Make A Difference Day projects, awarding $140,000 in grants that are donated to the charities related to the winning projects.

A Little White Lamb Helps Young Students Learn Values. Youngsters throughout the archdiocese have been learning “values infusion” lessons this school year with help from a series of K-2 books called Loukoumi. The lessons focus on the importance of healthy values such as compassion; having safe environments; and anti-bullying. And a little lamb is leading them.

A Little Lamb That’s Making a Big Difference.On a blustery Saturday in November, a busload of caring and civic-minded young passengers pulled up to the McGinley Center at Fordham’s Rose Hill campus to take part in the fourth annual Make a Difference with Loukoumi Day—an afternoon of fundraising, fun, and community service.

Nick Katsoris ’91 Uses Loukoumi Books, Foundation to Inspire Children.When Nick Katsoris ’91 first pursued the idea of writing a children’s book about a fluffy little lamb named Loukoumi, he did so with one child in mind: his then-infant son, Dean. Fourteen years later, more than 100,000 children across the country celebrated Make a Difference with Loukoumi Day by performing good deeds on Saturday, Oct. 27.

 

Entertainment Tonight Host Nancy O'Dell has narrated our new Easter book, Loukoumi In The Basket. Special thanks to Nancy and everyone at ET for the wonderful narration that brings the e-book to life and is included as a download with the hardcover book.
