RECREATING THE FUTURE Engineering for the Environment by The Parallel Projects

The Parallel Projects is a Global Campaign of students from the United States and Africa working together "in parallel" to create solutions for a safer and greener world. The students are working on projects to “RECREATE” the future to solve problems such as plastic pollution, deforestation, unsustainable living habits, and climate change.

Refrigerator Incubator: The past months the students have been “Engineering for the Environment”.  They have been encouraged to create new ideas focused on science and technology mixed with imagination and innovation. Professor Ame and students Rashid Said and Ali Hamad Omar in Tanzania had the idea to transform an old refrigerator into an incubator in efforts to raise hens to produce more eggs to sell at their community garden.

Solar Panels: Student, Justin Sather, in the United States focused on solar panels and renewable energy sources. He learned that getting energy from the sun is clean and doesn’t produce air pollution or greenhouse gasses like the traditional power generated at power plants by burning fossil fuels.  His goal is to encourage people to get solar panels on their homes and convince his school to go solar too.

The Parallel Projects want to encourage students worldwide to join their initiatives to find creative solutions for a safer world for future generations.
